Foundation led a playground renovation and a day filled with activities for around 300 volunteers. “We just love Oakland,” Ayesha Curry expressed in an interview alongside her husband. “This community means so much to us because it’s where we grew up, started our life together, and welcomed our first child. Hence, we have always aimed to stay connected to this community, regardless of where our careers may take us.”
Interestingly, although the Golden State Warriors have shifted their home games to San Francisco, the Currys are unwavering in their commitment to Oakland. Stephen Curry emphasized that they would not forget the community that played a big part in shaping them.

While Stephen Curry was born in Ohio and Ayesha in Toronto, both consider the Bay Area their true home, especially since he has spent his entire basketball career with the Warriors. “Even once I’m done playing, we plan to remain here. This area is definitely home for us,” he remarked.
The Currys established their foundation about five years ago in response to the pressing needs exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
