LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — In a thrilling encounter on Thursday night, Mwani Wilkinson played a pivotal role in Little Rock’s victory over Tennessee Tech, finishing the game with 17 points as the Trojans triumphed 79-75.
Wilkinson also contributed significantly with nine rebounds and four steals, helping his team improve to a season record of 17-10, including 11 wins in the Ohio Valley Conference. Alongside him, Tuongthach Gatkek matched Wilkinson’s scoring output with another 17 points, showcasing impressive accuracy by hitting 7 of 11 field goal attempts and going a perfect 3 for 3 from the charity stripe. He also secured six rebounds.
Isaiah Lewis added to the Trojans’ offensive efforts, scoring 17 points as well. He demonstrated his proficiency at the foul line by converting all four of his attempts and grabbed five rebounds while contributing defensively with three steals.
For the Golden Eagles, Jaylon Johnson was the standout performer, leading his team with 21 points and dishing out seven assists. His offensive prowess was backed up by Rodney Johnson Jr., who tallied 11 points and collected nine rebounds along with four assists. JaJuan Nicholls also chipped in with another 11 points for Tennessee Tech.
Looking ahead, Little Rock is scheduled to host Lindenwood next Thursday, while Tennessee Tech will head to Southeast Missouri State for their game on Saturday. The Trojans’ recent performance solidifies their position as contenders in the Ohio Valley Conference as they pursue postseason opportunities.
