England soccer captain Harry Kane, following another goal in the Champions League, expressed his interest in potentially transitioning to the NFL in the future. In a recent match, Kane scored the decisive goal that helped Bayern Munich secure a narrow 2-1 win against Celtic during their Champions League playoff.

After the game, Kane was interviewed by CBS, where he shared his enthusiasm for the NFL, particularly as a devoted supporter of the New England Patriots. He noted that the idea of shifting from soccer to American football “is something in the back of my mind.” Despite this intriguing notion, Kane affirmed his commitment to his current responsibilities, emphasizing, “My focus is on here, the Champions League, Bayern Munich,” while hinting that he would like to explore this option later on. He also mentioned, “But I still feel like I’ve got many more years ahead of me in soccer.”

At the age of 31, Kane has reached an impressive milestone of 36 goals in the Champions League, outpacing any other English player in the competition’s history. His recent goal against Celtic continued a notable personal achievement, as he has consistently found success against goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. In fact, Kane’s volley, which came in the 49th minute when he was left unmarked at a corner, marked his 19th career goal against Schmeichel, a record against any goalkeeper he has faced.

Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager, commented on the defensive lapse that allowed Kane to score, noting, “One of the world’s best strikers shouldn’t be left free in the box.” After the match, Kane’s conversation flowed between his passion for soccer and his admiration for the NFL. He recounted watching the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs and admitted that he “honestly didn’t care who won.” However, he acknowledged a sense of satisfaction when the Chiefs fell short in their pursuit of a third consecutive title, largely because of his fondness for Tom Brady.

Kane has previously mentioned how Brady’s remarkable journey from being a sixth-round NFL Draft pick to a seven-time Super Bowl champion is an inspiration to him. Reflecting on the recent Super Bowl, he stated, “All credit to the Eagles, stopping the Chiefs from doing the three-peat. I’m backing my boy Brady, so it was nice to see it if I’m totally honest.”
