FORT WORTH, Texas — In a commanding performance, Madison Conner led the No. 11 TCU women’s basketball team to a decisive 79-47 win against BYU on Tuesday night. Conner recorded 14 points and successfully sank four 3-pointers, while Sedona Prince contributed 13 points and blocked five shots.
With this victory, TCU improves its record to 23-3 and maintains an impressive 11-2 mark in the Big 12 conference. The team has now won four of its last five matchups and holds a perfect 17-0 record at home this season.
Hailey Van Lith shone in the second half, scoring nine of her 11 points as TCU outscored BYU 41-17 during that period. In addition, Agnes Emma-Nnopu added 10 points to support the Horned Frogs. Conner’s achievement marks the 20th time in her career that she has hit at least four 3-pointers in a home game.
From long range, TCU finished the game hitting 10 of their 27 attempts, which equates to 37%. The team capitalized on defensive efforts, converting 16 BYU turnovers into 25 points. Throughout this season, the Horned Frogs have hit nine or more three-pointers in 17 different games.
For BYU, which now holds a record of 12-12 and a conference record of 3-10, Emma Calvert was a standout with 16 points and six rebounds, while Delaney Gibb added 14 points. However, BYU struggled offensively, managing to shoot only 32.7% from the field.
TCU closed the second quarter with an 11-4 run, leading 38-30 at halftime. As the third quarter progressed, consecutive 3-pointers by Van Lith, Una Jovanovic, and Conner helped expand the lead to 16 points at 59-43. In the final quarter, TCU dominated, outscoring BYU 18-4.
NBA star Jimmy Butler, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, was present to witness the game.
Looking ahead, BYU is set to face No. 20 Oklahoma State on Saturday, while TCU prepares for a matchup against Arizona this Sunday.
