REIMS, France — American soccer player Jordan Pefok is expected to be sidelined for six weeks due to a right hamstring tear he sustained while playing for the French club Reims.
The Ligue 1 team shared this update on X on Tuesday, expressing their hopes for his swift recovery.
The 28-year-old forward, whose full name is Theoson-Jordan Siebatcheu Pefok, suffered the injury approximately 20 minutes after entering the match as a substitute during a French Cup victory against Bourgoin-Jallieu last Thursday.
Pefok had recently returned to Reims during the winter transfer window after stints with clubs such as Rennes in France, Young Boys in Switzerland, and German teams Union Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
During his initial time at Reims from 2014 to 2018, he netted 25 goals across 75 appearances, and his most successful period came while with Young Boys, where he scored an impressive 42 goals in 88 matches overall.
Pefok also made his mark on the international stage, scoring a single goal for the United States national team in 2021 against Honduras.
