HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Kintavious Dozier delivered a standout performance with 17 points, guiding Grambling to a 72-61 triumph over Alabama A&M on Monday evening.
Dozier showcased his shooting skills, making 5 of 12 attempts from the field, including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc, and adding 3 of 4 in free throws, contributing to the Tigers’ record of 8-16, with a 5-6 standing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Antwan Barnett supported the team’s effort with 15 points and nine rebounds, while P.J. Eason also made an impact, scoring 15 points, with an impressive shooting rate of 4 for 5 and converting 7 of 10 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Bulldogs, now at a record of 7-17 and 3-8 in the conference, saw Lorenzo Downey leading their scores with 15 points and nine rebounds. Both Angok Anyang and Darius Ford contributed significantly with 13 points each, though it wasn’t enough to change the game in their favor.
This matchup highlighted the competitive spirit of both teams as Grambling secured a much-needed win, bolstering their chances in the conference standings.
