Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put on a public display of affection at the Invictus Games in Vancouver, just hours after President Donald Trump made a scathing remark about their marriage.

The couple was seen embracing at the opening ceremony of the event for injured veterans. Meghan, dressed in a $2,900 ivory maxi trench coat by Sentaler, leaned her head on Harry’s shoulder, later cradling his face before sharing a kiss. Their warm interactions came after Trump dismissed calls for Harry’s deportation amid controversy over his visa application.
“I don’t want to do that,” Trump told the New York Post. “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
Trump’s ongoing criticism of Meghan
The former president has a history of criticizing Meghan, who openly supported President Joe Biden and once called Trump “divisive and misogynistic.” Trump has previously stated he is “not a fan” of the duchess, claiming Harry is “whipped” and being “led around by his nose.”
Harry’s speech hints at a response
Later in the evening, Harry delivered a speech that some viewed as a veiled response to Trump’s remarks. He praised the veterans for their “courage, values, and humanity” in a world filled with “uncertainty and weak moral character.”
Harry, who founded the Invictus Games in 2014, reminded the audience that the event was born from a “sacred obligation” to support fellow service members after his decade in the military.
Hockey game and dinner with Michael Bublé
After the ceremony, the Sussexes attended an ice hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs, where Harry was invited to drop the puck for the opening faceoff. The couple later joined Canadian singer Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana for dinner at Vij’s Indian restaurant, where owner Vikram Vij described them as “extremely friendly.”
Meghan’s special moment with children
On Sunday, Meghan met with 40 children whose parents are competing in the Games. She read them the children’s book All Are Neighbors and assured them, “We are here for you—we will be cheering you and your parents on this week.”
Harry later joined the gathering and was humorously gifted a pair of Speedos, with a playful remark that he “didn’t have to model them right now,” prompting laughter.
The couple’s affectionate and confident appearance suggests they remain unfazed by the latest round of criticism from Trump.
