FORT WORTH, Texas — Aaliyah Roberson delivered an impressive performance, scoring a season-high of 14 points as the ninth-ranked TCU secured their 19th straight home victory, defeating Texas Tech 63-42 on Saturday.

Madison Conner contributed significantly with 13 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. She gave the Frogs (22-3, 10-2 Big 12) the lead for good with a crucial three-pointer from the right wing, just under eight minutes into the third quarter.

Jasmine Shavers led Texas Tech (14-12, 3-10) with 15 points. Unfortunately, the Lady Raiders could not take the lead at any point during the game, marking their fifth consecutive loss. Loghan Johnson added 11 points to the efforts.

The game followed a disappointing 59-50 defeat for TCU against 12th-ranked Kansas State, where the Frogs were held to their lowest scoring total of the season. However, they regained co-leadership in the Big 12 after Kansas State suffered a heavy 85-55 loss to No. 25 Oklahoma State earlier that day.

In a closer look at the performance, Texas Tech struggled offensively, posting a season-low 42 points. This was a decline from their previous low score of 43 points against TCU in January, where they managed just 22.8% shooting. This time around, they connected on 15 of 52 attempts, equating to a 28.8% shooting percentage.

Meanwhile, TCU saw Conner being the only one from their main trio to score in double digits; she nailed two pivotal three-pointers in the final minutes. Sedona Prince contributed with nine points and ten rebounds while Hailey Van Lith scored six points and fouled out in 31 minutes of play.

A key moment in the match occurred when Conner’s jumper right after halftime put TCU ahead 29-27, which led into their third and final tie before Conner’s major three-pointer broke the deadlock.

A notable stat from the game is that TCU remains unbeaten at home this season with a flawless record of 16-0, establishing the longest home winning streak in a single season, overtaking the record previously set by the 2008-09 team.

TCU’s next game is at home against BYU on Tuesday night, while Texas Tech will be facing Baylor at home next Saturday.
