Keeslar contributes 15 points in Chattanooga’s 85-72 win over Furman

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — In an impressive showing, Garrison Keeslar scored 15 points to contribute to the Chattanooga Mocs’ 85-72 victory over the Furman Paladins on Saturday evening.

Keeslar demonstrated remarkable shooting skills, hitting 5 of 8 attempts and going a perfect 3 for 3 from three-point range, which played a significant role in the victory for the Mocs, who now hold a record of 17-8 overall and 9-3 in the Southern Conference. Frank Champion also made a considerable impact, scoring 14 points while connecting on 5 of 15 shots and sinking 4 of 6 from the charity stripe. Additionally, he made his presence known on the boards with seven rebounds and contributed six assists. Trey Bonham matched Champion’s effort with another 14 points, shooting an efficient 6 of 10 from the field.

On the other side, the Paladins (18-7, 6-6) were spearheaded by Pjay Smith Jr., who delivered a strong performance with 22 points, alongside seven rebounds and nine assists. Cooper Bowser was also a key contributor for Furman, adding 14 points, pulling down seven rebounds, and registering four blocks, while Nick Anderson chipped in with 11 points.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to the court on Wednesday. Chattanooga will travel to face Samford, while Furman will take on Mercer in a home game.
