ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks announced on Saturday their decision to waive Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland, just two days following his acquisition from the Los Angeles Clippers.
In a trade deal revealed late Thursday, the Clippers secured guard Bogdan Bogdanovic along with three second-round draft picks from the Hawks in exchange for Terance Mann and Hyland.
On the previous day, the Hawks finalized a trade that sent forward De’Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers, acquiring Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, along with future second-round picks and pick swaps in return.
During a press conference on Friday, Hawks general manager Landry Fields did not mention Hyland when discussing the team’s future, making Saturday’s waiver decision somewhat expected.
Hyland played in 20 games for the Clippers this season, contributing an average of 7.2 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 rebounds over 11.1 minutes per game. The 6-foot-2 guard has a total of 182 appearances under his belt across four NBA seasons with the Denver Nuggets and the Clippers.
