ASHEVILLE, N.C. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday night, UNC Asheville secured a 78-70 victory over Gardner-Webb, thanks in large part to Jordan Marsh’s impressive performance, scoring 26 points.
Marsh also contributed by grabbing six rebounds and making four steals for the Bulldogs, who now hold a record of 17 wins and 6 losses, with an impressive 8-1 standing in the Big South Conference.
Toyaz Solomon was another standout for UNC Asheville, scoring 17 points, shooting 6 of 7 from the floor and successfully converting 5 of 10 attempts from the charity stripe while grabbing five rebounds.
Fletcher Abee also played a significant role, contributing 14 points with an effective shooting performance of 5 for 8, including two 3-pointers out of five attempts from long range. This victory marks the seventh consecutive win for the Bulldogs.
On the other side, the Runnin’ Bulldogs, now sitting at 9 wins and 14 losses with a 4-6 record in conference play, saw Darryl Simmons II lead their effort with 21 points. Both Jamaine Mann and Pharell Boyogueno added to the scoreboard as well, each finishing the game with 12 points and six rebounds.
