INGLEWOOD, Calif. — In a recent game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner exited in the first quarter after an accidental collision with teammate Bennedict Mathurin, who hit him in the face. As a precaution, Turner underwent a concussion evaluation and did not return to the game.
Turner suffered the injury while attempting to secure a rebound, leading to the unintentional blow from Mathurin. Although he initially got back on his feet, Turner signaled to the bench that he needed to leave the game shortly afterward. Following a called timeout, he appeared to stagger but was supported by two Indiana staff members as he made his way off the court. Fortunately, he managed to walk off beneath his own strength.
Turner, in his tenth season with the Pacers, is renowned for holding the franchise record for blocked shots. During the match, Mathurin had an impressive performance, contributing 25 points to Indiana’s successful 119-112 victory.
Coaches and fans alike will await further updates on Turner’s condition as they assess his status for upcoming games.
