FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In an exciting finish, Deon Perry scored 19 points and made a dramatic three-quarter court shot as time expired, leading Fairfield to a narrow victory over Marist with a final score of 59-56 on Thursday night.

With just nine seconds remaining on the clock, Perry assisted Peyton Smith for a layup that brought the game to a tie at 56 points. However, Jadin Collins-Roberts missed both of his free throw attempts with only 1.4 seconds left in the game. Following a timeout called by the Stags, Michael Rogan executed the inbounds pass to Perry, who took a dribble before uncorking a spectacular shot to clinch the win.

Perry’s shooting performance included 6 successful attempts out of 14, with 3 of those coming from beyond the arc, and he converted all of his four free throw attempts. The Stags improved their season record to 9-14 overall and 5-7 within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Prophet Johnson contributed with nine points as well, shooting 2 for 12 from the field and converting 5 of 6 from the free-throw line, alongside grabbing nine rebounds.
