LONDON — Brazilian winger Willian has returned to Fulham, marking his third stint with the Premier League club.
On Thursday, Fulham confirmed the signing of the 36-year-old player on a short-term basis. Willian was a free agent after departing from the Greek team Olympiakos in December.
Previously, Willian made his debut for Fulham during the 2022-23 season, following his time with prominent Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal.
After his initial contract with Fulham lapsed, he opted to extend his stay for another season, participating in the 2023-24 campaign.
This latest agreement is contingent upon international clearance and is set to last until the end of the current season.
Willian expressed his enthusiasm about rejoining Fulham, stating, “It’s a great opportunity again to play for this club, and I’m fully motivated to get on the pitch and do things well for this club.”
He added, “I’m completely happy, my family’s happy. We are happy to be back.”
At present, Fulham is positioned ninth in the Premier League standings.
This latest recruitment comes as Fulham manager Marco Silva copes with the loss of winger Harry Wilson due to a long-term injury.
