The Toronto Raptors are set to acquire Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans, as reported late Wednesday. This deal will involve the Raptors trading Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk, according to a source familiar with the discussions who spoke on the condition of anonymity until the trade receives official league approval on Thursday.

Ingram has been inactive since early December due to an ankle issue but has been averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists across the 18 games he played this season. The Raptors are also expected to send a heavily protected first-round draft pick and a second-round pick as part of the transaction to the Pelicans.

Bruce Brown has had a tumultuous trade history since joining the Indiana Pacers on a multiyear contract, having been instrumental in the Denver Nuggets’ championship win in 2023. He found himself traded to the Raptors last January and is now heading to New Orleans. Due to knee surgery in September, Brown has participated in only 17 games so far this season, with an average of 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

Kelly Olynyk’s season has also been impacted by injuries, as he has appeared in just 23 games. His current averages stand at 7.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
