Army defeats Holy Cross in a close game, 68-65

WEST POINT, N.Y. — In a thrilling matchup on Wednesday night, Jalen Rucker led the Army Black Knights to a narrow 68-65 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders, contributing an impressive 19 points.

Rucker also recorded five assists during the game, showcasing his ability to facilitate plays for his team. His teammate, Josh Scovens, added 16 points, finishing the game with a shooting performance of 7 for 16, despite struggling with his three-point shooting, going 0 for 4 from beyond the arc and hitting 2 of 6 from the free-throw line. Scovens also pulled down six rebounds, adding to his all-around contribution. Ryan Curry scored nine points by shooting 4 of 9 from the field and hitting one of his attempts from three-point territory out of six.

On the other side of the court, Max Green put up a strong performance for the Crusaders, notching 18 points along with nine rebounds. His efforts enriched a competitive game, while teammate Joe Nugent complemented the attack with 12 points and seven rebounds. Caleb Kenney also made his mark by contributing 10 points and registering two blocks, further solidifying Holy Cross’s presence in the paint.

Both squads are set to return to action on Saturday, with Army preparing to take on Bucknell at home, while Holy Cross will face Boston University on their own turf.
