HARRISONBURG, Va. — In a competitive match on Wednesday night, James Madison’s basketball team edged out Troy with a score of 64-61. Key contributions came from Elijah Hutchins-Everett and Bryce Lindsay, who both recorded 14 points to steer their team to victory.
Hutchins-Everett was particularly efficient, hitting all of his field goals and making 7 out of 8 from the charity stripe. Lindsay showed his shooting prowess, converting 5 out of 9 attempts from the floor, including 4 for 7 from beyond the arc. Additionally, Mark Freeman supported the team’s efforts, contributing 13 points while hitting 5 out of 11 shots and managing only 1 out of 5 from three-point territory, along with 2 of 5 from the free-throw line.
Troy’s efforts were led by Tayton Conerway, who topped the scoring charts with 18 points as well as grabbing seven rebounds, while Marcus Rigsby Jr. added another 11 points to the scoreboard.
Looking ahead, both James Madison and Troy will be back on the court this Saturday, with James Madison set to face Toledo and Troy heading to Miami (Ohio) for their upcoming games.
