TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Camp Wagner’s impressive performance, scoring 22 points, propelled Indiana State to a decisive 80-62 victory over Valparaiso on Wednesday evening.
Wagner also contributed five rebounds to the Sycamores’ efforts, who now hold a record of 12-12 overall and 6-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Samage Teel added 17 points to the scoreboard, hitting 5 of 16 shots, including two 3-pointers from six attempts, and successfully making all five of his free throw attempts while dishing out nine assists. Additionally, Aaron Gray completed 6 of 8 of his attempts, including one out of three attempts from long range, finishing the game with 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
On the other hand, All Wright led the Beacons with an outstanding 32-point performance while Cooper Schwieger notched 17 points and collected 12 rebounds. This defeat marks the Beacons’ eighth consecutive loss, reflecting a challenging season for the team.
Indiana State maintained a slender lead at halftime with a score of 39-31, thanks in part to Wagner’s 14 points before the break. In the second half, Kmani Doughty emerged as a key contributor for the Sycamores with nine points.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Saturday, with Indiana State traveling to face Drake, while Valparaiso will host Murray State at home.
