NEWARK, N.J. — In an impressive performance, Pierre Brooks tallied 14 points as Butler triumphed over Seton Hall with a decisive score of 84-54 on Wednesday evening.

Brooks complemented his scoring with five rebounds and seven assists for the Bulldogs, who now hold a record of 10-13 and a conference record of 3-9 in the Big East. Alongside Brooks, Boden Kapke contributed 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting, including hitting one out of three attempts from three-point range, and also gathered 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Patrick McCaffery showcased his shooting skills, finishing with 13 points from making five of his seven shots, which included nailing three out of five shots from beyond the arc.

The Pirates, struggling with a record of 6-17 and 1-11 in the conference, had Prince Aligbe leading the way with 17 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Jahseem Felton added eight points, while David Tubek chipped in with seven points. Unfortunately for Seton Hall, the defeat marked their eighth consecutive loss.

Butler seized control of the game early, taking the lead with 18:36 remaining in the first half and maintaining it throughout. By halftime, the score stood at 48-20, with McCaffery contributing a significant 13 points. In the second half, Butler managed to outscore Seton Hall by a narrow margin of two points, with Jahmyl Telfort leading the Bulls in the latter period by scoring 12 points.
