CHICAGO — Des Watson made a significant impact in the first half, scoring 13 of his 17 points, leading Loyola Chicago to a convincing 77-53 victory over Saint Bonaventure on Tuesday evening.

In addition to his scoring, Watson recorded four steals for the Ramblers, who now hold a record of 14 wins and 8 losses, including 5 wins and 4 losses in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Miles Rubin contributed 15 points and was a force on the boards with nine rebounds and three blocks. Jayden Dawson added 14 points, achieving a shooting percentage of 41.7% from the field, with four of his nine attempts from three-point range falling in.

On the opposing side, the Bonnies, now with a record of 17-7 and 5-6 in conference play, were led by Melvin Council Jr., who managed to score 13 points. Chance Moore added 11 points, along with two steals, while Jonah Hinton chipped in with 10 points.

The Ramblers seized control of the game with 12:53 left in the first half and maintained their lead throughout. At halftime, Loyola Chicago held a 33-24 advantage and effectively pulled away in the second half, executing a dominant 14-2 run that expanded a nine-point lead to 21 points.

Looking ahead, Loyola Chicago will face Duquesne on the road Saturday, while Saint Bonaventure is set to host George Washington on Sunday.
