Davis scores 15 to propel Kent State over Eastern Michigan 70-49

YPSILANTI, Mich. — In a competitive match on Tuesday night, Kent State triumphed over Eastern Michigan with a decisive score of 70-49. VonCameron Davis played a key role in the victory, contributing 15 points to the Golden Flashes’ efforts.

Davis demonstrated impressive shooting skills, connecting on 6 of 14 attempts from the field and hitting 2 of 3 from three-point range. His performance, combined with Delrecco Gillespie’s standout play, which included 13 points along with an impressive 18 rebounds and five steals, reinforced Kent State’s strong presence. Both Gillespie and Jamal Sumlin matched the scoring output by adding another 13 points each.

For Eastern Michigan, the offensive efforts were led by Christian Henry, Jalen Terry, and Yusuf Jihad, each of whom scored 10 points. The Eagles struggled to keep pace with Kent State throughout the match.

At halftime, the score stood at 33-24, with Davis already making a significant impact by scoring 12 points in the opening half. In the second half, Kent State continued to build their lead, going on a significant 18-2 run that pushed the score to 66-44. Gillespie excelled in this half, contributing nine points to his team’s total.
