BALTIMORE — Ramón Laureano has reached an agreement with the Baltimore Orioles on a one-year contract worth $4 million, further strengthening the team’s outfield lineup.

The contract comes with a team option for the 2026 season. Laureano, who is 30 years old, had a solid performance last season, finishing with a batting average of .259, alongside 11 home runs and 33 runs batted in, while playing for both Atlanta and Cleveland.

With the departure of right fielder Anthony Santander to free agency, the Orioles have made significant additions to their outfield, bringing in Tyler O’Neill, Dylan Carlson, and now Laureano. The existing lineup includes Cedric Mullins, Colton Cowser, and Heston Kjerstad. This new combination opens the door for potential platoon strategies, as O’Neill, Carlson, and Laureano have all demonstrated a much higher on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) against left-handed pitchers throughout their careers. In contrast, Mullins and Cowser have excelled against right-handed pitching.

Furthermore, the Orioles may consider trading one of their surplus outfielders to acquire more starting pitching options, especially with Mullins set to hit free agency after the current season.
