TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State Seminoles secured their fifth consecutive win on Sunday night, decisively defeating Wake Forest with a score of 97-68. The 25th-ranked team showcased a dominating performance, bolstered by standout contributions from Ta’Niya Latson, who scored 25 points, O’Mariah Gordon with 22 points, and Sydney Bowles contributing 20 points.

In the matchup, Latson was effective, hitting 8 of 23 from the field and converting all eight of her free throw attempts. Gordon showcased her shooting skills by making 9 of 16 attempts, including three from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Bowles was particularly efficient, finishing 5-for-9 on three-point attempts.

Adding to the team’s success, Makayla Timpson recorded her 13th double-double of the season, achieving 12 points alongside an impressive 14 rebounds. For Wake Forest, Demeara Hinds delivered a strong performance, tying her career high with 18 points and pulling down a personal best of 13 rebounds, marking her second double-double this season. Rylie Theuerkauf contributed 11 points, while teammates Elise Williams and Raegyn Conley both chipped in 10 points.

The game began strongly for Florida State, with Latson hitting a 3-pointer as the team launched into an early 7-0 run. Bowles then added eight points to help extend the lead to 20-4, concluding the first quarter with a 27-13 advantage. In the second quarter, Gordon scored seven points, and Florida State outpaced the Demon Deacons, finishing the half ahead 51-31. Wake Forest managed to narrow the score to 30-25 with back-to-back 3-pointers from Theuerkauf and Conley, but a surge by the Seminoles, featuring seven points from Gordon and five consecutive points from Bowles during a 14-0 run, helped maintain a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

The Seminoles achieved their largest advantage of the night at 69-39 after Gordon hit another three-pointer with just 4:50 left in the third quarter. Florida State will face off against Virginia in their upcoming game on Thursday, while Wake Forest is set to take on Syracuse on Sunday.
