JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — East Tennessee State University took a thrilling victory over Furman on Sunday, winning 72-69. The standout performer for the Buccaneers was Jaden Seymour, who scored 23 points and contributed five rebounds to the team’s success. With just 29 seconds remaining in the game, Quimari Peterson secured the win with a crucial layup.

For the Buccaneers, who now hold a record of 13-10 overall and 6-4 in the Southern Conference, Peterson added 16 points to the scoreboard. He had a shooting performance that saw him hitting 4 out of 15 attempts from the field, with a better success rate from beyond the arc at 3 of 8, and he made 5 out of 6 free throws. Karon Boyd also made a significant contribution with 12 points, displaying efficiency by going 4 of 4 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.

On the opposing side, the Paladins, who now stand at 17-6 overall and 5-5 in conference play, were led by PJay Smith Jr. With an all-around performance, he tallied 17 points, grabbed six rebounds, distributed four assists, and made two steals.
