Gillus tallies 16 points as Lehigh edges past Holy Cross 69-67

WORCESTER, Massachusetts — Lehigh University secured a thrilling victory over Holy Cross with a final score of 69-67 on Saturday night, thanks in part to the standout performance by Cam Gillus, who contributed 16 points along with 10 rebounds for the Mountain Hawks. The win improved Lehigh’s record to 8-13 overall and 3-7 in the Patriot League.

Tyler Whitney-Sidney also played a significant role in the game, scoring 16 points while shooting 7 of 17 from the field, including two successful three-point attempts out of seven. Alfredo Addesa added to the Mountain Hawks’ offense, finishing perfect from the field with 10 points.

On the other side, the Crusaders from Holy Cross, who fell to 11-12 and matched Lehigh with a 3-7 record in the league, were spearheaded by Caleb Kenney. Kenney delivered an impressive performance with 25 points and secured 11 rebounds. DeAndre Williams provided additional support with 17 points and four assists, while Jaiden Feroah chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.

Lehigh entered halftime with a narrow lead of 40-35, thanks in part to Gillus’s strong first half, where he scored 12 points. The game remained competitive in the second half, but a crucial jump shot from Joshua Ingram with just 1:09 remaining solidified Lehigh’s lead at 66-64, allowing them to hold on for a closely contested victory.
