CHICAGO — Indiana State secured a hard-fought victory over UIC with a final score of 88-83, highlighted by an impressive performance from Camp Wagner who contributed 22 points to the team’s overall effort.
Wagner also recorded three blocks, showcasing his defensive prowess for the Sycamores, who now hold a record of 11 wins and 12 losses, as well as a 5-7 standing in the Missouri Valley Conference. Kmani Doughty played a significant role as well, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds, while teammate Samage Teel scored 13 points after making 4 of 12 attempts from the field, with 2 of those coming from beyond the arc, and going 3 for 5 at the free-throw line.
For the Flames, who now sit at 15-8 overall and 7-5 in conference play, Filip Skobalj performed well, netting 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Ahmad Henderson II also added 20 points, contributing significantly to UIC’s overall score, while Tyem Freeman recorded 12 points and three blocks in his efforts.
Indiana State demonstrated their determination in the second half, executing a decisive 7-0 run that allowed them to stretch their lead to 18 points, with the score reaching 59-41 just 18 minutes and 49 seconds into the half. The Sycamores maintained control and ultimately sealed the victory, despite a resilient effort from UIC.
