NBA suspends and fines Isaiah Stewart of Detroit following his ejection for a flagrant foul in defeat against the Pacers.

NEW YORK — The NBA announced on Friday that Isaiah Stewart, forward/center for the Detroit Pistons, has been suspended for one game without pay. This decision comes after Stewart accumulated his sixth flagrant-foul point during the current season, leading to disciplinary action by the league.

The suspension was confirmed as the league additionally imposed a $50,000 fine on Stewart for engaging in “inappropriate and objectionable gestures” after he was ejected from a game on Wednesday. This contest saw the Pistons fall to the Pacers, with a final score of 133-119 in favor of Indiana.

Stewart was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul in the second quarter of that match, which resulted in his ejection. Before this incident, he had already entered the game with four flagrant-foul points, and the subsequent call automatically triggered the suspension, aligning with the NBA’s established regulations for the regular season.

Standing at 6 feet 8 inches and weighing 250 pounds, Stewart has been contributing with an average of 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season, showcasing his role on the team despite the recent disciplinary actions.
