FORT WAYNE, Ind. — On Thursday night, Cleveland State emerged victorious over Purdue Fort Wayne with a score of 68-58, thanks in large part to an impressive performance by Chase Robinson, who recorded 20 points.
In addition to his scoring, Robinson contributed significantly with six rebounds for the Vikings, who now boast a season record of 17 wins and 6 losses, including 11 wins in the Horizon League. Tevin Smith also played a vital role, scoring 16 points with a perfect shooting record from the floor, hitting all 4 attempts, and excelling at the free-throw line where he converted 6 of 8 attempts. Dylan Arnett rounded out the strong offensive effort by adding 15 points on an efficient 7 of 10 shooting, while the Vikings celebrated their impressive 13-game winning streak.
For the Mastodons, Eric Mulder led the team with 13 points. He was closely followed by teammate Rasheed Bello, who also contributed 13 points along with an impactful defensive performance that included six steals. Jalen Jackson contributed 12 points to the team’s effort and also managed five assists, two steals, and two blocks, showcasing his versatility on the court.
Cleveland State is set to continue their season with a matchup against Northern Kentucky on the road next Wednesday. Meanwhile, Purdue Fort Wayne will look to bounce back as they prepare to face Milwaukee this Sunday.
