MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — On Thursday night, Robert Carpenter made a significant impact off the bench, contributing 16 points to guide New Mexico State to a narrow 61-57 victory over Middle Tennessee.
Carpenter’s performance was complemented by his seven rebounds, helping the Aggies improve their season record to 12-9 and 5-3 in Conference USA. Notably, Peter Filipovity also shone brightly, scoring 12 points while pulling down nine rebounds and recording four steals. In addition, Dionte Bostick added 10 points and shot 50% from the field, finishing the game with a solid performance.
For the Blue Raiders, who now hold a record of 14-7 and 5-3 in the conference, Camryn Weston was the standout player, leading his team with 19 points and six rebounds. Jestin Porter provided support with 14 points, while Torey Alston chipped in with eight points and six rebounds of his own.
As the first half progressed, New Mexico State managed to establish an advantage, heading into halftime with a score of 35-26. Filipovity was instrumental during the first half, contributing 12 points to help secure that lead. In the second half, it was Carpenter who stepped up, leading the Aggies with nine points as they maintained their edge against the Blue Raiders.
