MANHATTAN, Kan. — In a thrilling overtime contest on Thursday evening, Serena Sundell led the way for No. 11 Kansas State, scoring 23 points and delivering eight assists, as they triumphed over Iowa State with a score of 87-79. This victory marked the Wildcats’ 14th consecutive win at home.

The game took a decisive turn during the extra period, where Kansas State initiated a strong 10-2 run, featuring a key 3-pointer from Sundell and contributions from Jaelyn Glenn, who added five points during that surge. The Wildcats managed to outscore the Cyclones 16-8 in the overtime, showcasing their determination and skill.

In addition to Sundell’s standout performance, Taryn Sides contributed significantly with four 3-pointers, accumulating a total of 17 points for Kansas State (20-2, 8-1 Big 12). Zyanna Walker also added to the scoring with 11 points, while both Glenn and Temira Poindexter chipped in with 10 points each.

Iowa State fought hard throughout the match and remained behind for most of the second half. However, a late surge was sparked by Reagan Wilson’s 3-pointer, and Addy Brown’s layup with just 24 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 71. Kansas State had a chance to win in regulation, but Sundell’s jumper missed, sending the game into overtime.

The Cyclones were led by Audi Crooks, who delivered an impressive performance with 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown contributed 20 points and eight assists in the effort for Iowa State (15-8, 6-4).

Looking ahead, Kansas State will face off against Kansas this coming Sunday, while Iowa State will return home to take on ninth-ranked TCU.
