PHILADELPHIA — In a recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George was sidelined due to a finger injury, marking the 15th time he’s missed a game this season.
George suffered damage to the tendon in the little finger of his non-shooting left hand after jamming it during a match against the Chicago Bulls last Saturday. He is set to undergo another evaluation prior to the game against the Sacramento Kings, although it is anticipated that his recovery won’t take an extended period.
Additionally, Joel Embiid was also absent for the game against the Lakers and is expected to be unavailable for the upcoming game against the Kings. Despite not playing, he did manage to participate in warm-ups, donning a full uniform, a day after being spotted at practice showcasing his agility with handstands.
At 34 years old, George has already endured various injury setbacks this season, including issues with his knee and groin, as well as instances related to load management. Despite these challenges, he has maintained an average of 17.1 points per game and recently demonstrated his scoring prowess with a remarkable 30-point performance in a victory over Cleveland, all while being in the first year of a lucrative four-year, $212 million contract as a free agent.
