Roman Reigns has been a prominent figure in WWE, often appearing alongside family members in storylines under the banner of The Bloodline. His recent announcement as the cover star for the standard edition of WWE 2K25 further highlights this connection to his family, specifically alongside stablemates Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu, who joined him for The Bloodline Edition cover.
Reigns expressed pride in representing his family heritage through his role in wrestling, emphasizing the importance of honoring those who came before him. “We’re always trying to represent our family, I’m always trying to represent the elders of my family and the ones that laid down the groundwork and the foundation that we stand on,” he remarked. He views the video game as a unique opportunity for fans to engage with The Bloodline characters and create memorable moments themselves.
The highly anticipated game is set for release on March 14, just in time for fans to enjoy before the WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas on April 19 and 20. With a long list of legendary wrestlers such as Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, and Becky Lynch gracing past covers, Reigns continues this trend by joining the ranks of icons in professional wrestling history.
In addition to Reigns, The Bloodline Edition will showcase members of his faction, alongside The Undertaker’s Deadman Edition cover, which adds another layer to the family’s storyline. Wrestlers like Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman will be featured prominently, representing the deep connections within The Bloodline family structure. This edition, along with the Deadman Edition, will be available on March 7.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Reigns stated, “We earned it. We set out to be very special.” Having previously shared the cover with Becky Lynch in 2020, he is now once again in the spotlight as a key figure in WWE.
At 39, Reigns remains a top performer in wrestling and recently headlined both nights of WrestleMania in Philadelphia. With his athletic background from playing college football at Georgia Tech, he has become a fixture in WrestleMania events, and he is expected to play a significant role this year at Allegiant Stadium.
Reigns last missed WrestleMania during the 2020 pandemic, where the event was held in a non-public venue. His decision to withdraw at that time was primarily due to health concerns.
Despite his ring persona of an imposing 6-foot-3, 265-pound athlete, Leati Joseph Anoa’i (Reigns’ real name) has faced his share of challenges off the mat, particularly with a leukemia diagnosis dating back to 2007. After stepping away from WWE in 2018 to focus on his health, he has fought through ongoing medical issues, sharing insights into what physical wellness means beyond appearances.
“I look at health in a couple of different layers because when you look at someone, it’s, oh, they look healthy,” Reigns explained, emphasizing the various aspects of health beyond just how one looks. Fortunately, he indicated that he is currently in a positive state regarding his health: “We’re still working on that zeroed-out molecular remission, but it’s under a level that’s sustainable to where we’re in a very good place.”
Feeling strong both physically and mentally, Reigns is set to compete in WWE’s forthcoming major event, the Royal Rumble in Indianapolis, where he will step into the arena as a cover star for 2K25. “Right now, I’m in a good place,” he affirmed.
