Baldoni apologizes to Blake Lively: Why?

The legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively just took another twist! A newly leaked voice note reveals Baldoni’s emotional apology to Lively over their alleged feud about It Ends With Us.

In the voice message, reportedly sent in April 2023, Baldoni, 41, addressed Lively, 37. The drama centers around changes Lively proposed for a pivotal rooftop scene in the upcoming film. This scene, where their characters first meet, has sparked lawsuits, countersuits, and endless speculation.

Lively’s lawsuits and allegations

Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and emotional distress. She filed lawsuits in California and New York, alleging she suffered lost wages and endured trauma during the project. Baldoni’s initial reaction to her rewrites, she claims, led to severe fallout.

Baldoni hit back hard. He countersued for $400 million, accusing Lively of defamation and attempting to seize control of the movie. His lawsuit paints a picture of manipulation and celebrity-backed intimidation.

The rooftop scene drama

The tension reportedly began when Lively suggested a new version of the rooftop scene. According to Baldoni’s suit, the actress claimed her husband, Ryan Reynolds, wrote the changes. Baldoni admitted in the voice note that he felt “obliged” to praise the revisions, fearing backlash from Reynolds and Lively’s close friend, Taylor Swift.

Lively allegedly wasn’t happy with Baldoni’s response. After a brief silence, Baldoni sent her an emotional apology. In the leaked note, he expressed regret and acknowledged his mistakes.

Baldoni’s apology in his own words

I’m really sorry,” Baldoni begins. He admits he fell short and apologizes for his reaction to her efforts. “You worked really hard, and I didn’t give it the attention it deserved.”

Baldoni praised Lively’s vulnerability and her willingness to share her feelings. He called himself flawed but promised to make amends. “I’ll mess up. I’ll say the wrong thing. But I’ll always find my way back to center,” he assured.

The role of Reynolds and Swift

Baldoni referenced Lively’s “dragons,” a term she allegedly used to describe Reynolds and Swift. In the note, he praised their creativity and influence. “The three of you together are an energy force,” Baldoni said.

However, his legal team argued that the involvement of such high-profile allies created immense pressure. They claim Baldoni felt coerced into accepting the rewritten scene, even as he praised Lively’s work in text messages.

Text messages reveal more drama

Messages allegedly exchanged between the stars show Baldoni praising Lively’s revisions. “I really love what you did,” one text reportedly reads. But Baldoni’s lawyers claim he only sent these messages out of obligation, not genuine approval.

His legal team argues that Lively’s “dragons” played a significant role. “He wasn’t just dealing with Lively. He was facing two of the most powerful celebrities in the world,” their complaint states.

What’s next in the legal battle?

Baldoni’s countersuit accuses Lively of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy, among other charges. His complaint, spanning 179 pages, paints a picture of power plays and manipulation. Lively’s team denies all claims and vows to fight back.

As the legal showdown continues, both stars remain tight-lipped. The public, however, is hooked on every twist and turn.
