MONROE, Louisiana — In an uplifting turn of events, Coltie Young delivered an impressive performance with 27 points, aiding the UL Monroe Warhawks in breaking a disheartening 10-game losing streak by defeating South Alabama 77-66 on Monday evening.

Young also contributed significantly with seven rebounds in this crucial game for the Warhawks, who now hold a record of 5-17 and 1-8 in the Sun Belt Conference. Makai Willis also shone, successfully completing all nine of his free throw attempts and registering 17 points. He added to his impact with seven rebounds and three blocks. Additionally, Jalen Bolden made his mark with three 3-pointers, resulting in 12 points for the night.

On the opposing side, the South Alabama Jaguars, who stand at 14-7 and 6-3 in conference play, were led by Dylan Fasoyiro, who scored 15 points. Myles Corey made his presence felt with 14 points and provided seven assists, while John Broom chipped in with 12 points.
