HAMMOND, La. — Houston Christian triumphed over Southeast Louisiana with a score of 70-62 on Monday night, putting an end to the Lions’ impressive six-game winning streak.

Bryson Dawkins and Julian Mackey were the standout players for the Huskies, each scoring 27 points in the match. Dawkins also contributed significantly on the boards, securing seven rebounds. Mackey showcased his shooting accuracy by making 4 of 8 attempts from beyond the arc, proving essential to their team’s offensive efforts.

On the other side, the Lions’ Sam Hines Jr. led his team with an impressive performance, netting 23 points while also pulling down six rebounds and recording three steals. Brody Rowbury supported the effort with a solid contribution of 14 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Huskies.

With this victory, Houston Christian improves their record to 10-11 overall and 7-3 within the Southland Conference, while Southeast Louisiana’s record now stands at 12-9 with a 6-4 conference performance.
