The Knights, having faced two consecutive losses against ranked teams, wasted no time asserting themselves in the game by launching a strong 13-0 run that featured three 3-pointers from Hall. TCU (10-9, 3-5) managed to reduce the deficit to six points, with Vasean Alklette’s free throws making it 25-19 with 8:27 remaining in the first half. However, UCF swiftly responded with an 11-0 run, maintaining a solid lead for the remainder of the match. By the end, they achieved a 27-point lead, which equaled their largest of the night.
Following a standout performance where he scored 40 points in a previous game against Arizona State, Hall contributed significantly again, netting 14 points in the first half. He finished the contest with an efficient shooting line, hitting 6 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 5 from three-point range, and making 11 of 13 free throws. Moustapha Thiam also shone with 16 points and five blocked shots. Jordan Ivy-Curry, who only began scoring later in the second half, added three crucial 3-pointers, gathered six rebounds, provided four assists, and made three steals. Darius Johnson rounded out the scoring for UCF with 15 points and five assists.
On the TCU side, Alklette was the standout performer, scoring 15 points, collecting five rebounds, and handing out four assists, but he was the only player from TCU to reach double digits in scoring.
