EL PASO, Texas — Jacksonville State secured a 73-66 win over UTEP on Thursday, with Michael Houge making a significant impact off the bench, contributing 20 points.
In addition to his scoring, Houge also pulled down seven rebounds, helping the Gamecocks improve their record to 12-7 overall and 4-2 within Conference USA. Other notable performances included Jaron Pierre Jr., who added 14 points along with five rebounds and six assists. Quel’Ron House also netted 14 points, making 4 of his 7 shots from the field and successfully converting 5 of 7 free throws.
For UTEP, Otis Frazier III led the team with 17 points, complemented by six rebounds and three steals. Ahamad Bynum contributed 16 points to the effort, while Corey Camper Jr. added seven points along with two steals. This performance brings UTEP’s record to 14-5 overall and 4-2 in league play.
Both teams are set to return to action on Saturday, with Jacksonville State traveling to face New Mexico State, while UTEP will host Kennesaw State.
