Haas names Laura Mueller as the inaugural female race engineer in Formula 1.

Haas Formula 1 Team has made a significant advancement by appointing Laura Mueller as the first female race engineer in the history of the sport.
On Tuesday, the team announced that Mueller will be partnering with French driver Esteban Ocon for the upcoming season.
The race engineer plays a crucial and visible role in Formula 1 as they communicate directly with drivers throughout the race, with those communications being broadcasted to audiences worldwide.

Last season, Haas secured seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship and is set to introduce a fresh lineup this year, featuring Ocon alongside Ollie Bearman.
Mueller, who has been with Haas since 2022, was promoted to this esteemed position from her previous role as a performance engineer.
Her transition into this key role comes as Haas looks to make its mark in the competition.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu praised Mueller’s determination and strong work ethic.
“She’s a pretty determined character. And then she’s very hard working. Her work ethic is really, really good,” he remarked on the F1 website.
Mueller’s appointment marks an important milestone not only for Haas but also for diversity within the realm of Formula 1 engineering.
