ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In a commanding performance, Donovan Dent recorded 20 points, leading the New Mexico Lobos to a decisive 95-67 victory over Fresno State on Monday evening.
Dent not only shone as a scorer but also contributed significantly with nine assists for the Lobos, who improved their record to 16-4 overall and 8-1 in the Mountain West Conference. Mustapha Amzil supported the team with 15 points and secured seven rebounds, while Tru Washington added 13 points, shooting 5 for 9 from the field, including a strong 3 for 5 from three-point range.
For the Fresno State Bulldogs, who now stand at 5-14 and 1-7 in conference play, Brian Amuneke was the standout performer with 18 points. Jalen Weaver added 14 points along with three steals, and Elijah Price contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lobos established their dominance early, taking the lead just 34 seconds into the first half and never looking back. Washington was instrumental in building a substantial lead, scoring 13 points in the opening half, which helped New Mexico secure a comfortable 45-27 lead by halftime.
