WASHINGTON — In an exciting matchup on Monday night, Jaden Gray led the Division II Morehouse team to a narrow 79-76 victory over Howard University, contributing a noteworthy 22 points.
The Maroon Tigers showcased impressive shooting skills from beyond the arc, sinking 15 of their 34 attempts at three-point range. Sincere Key stood out with five three-pointers, while Gray and Cedric Taylor III each contributed four.
Gray had an efficient shooting night, hitting 8 of 14 field goals and also making 2 out of 3 free throws. In addition to Gray’s performance, Taylor scored 17 points and Key added 15 points to the team total.
For the Bison, Marcus Dockery was the standout performer, scoring an impressive 28 points while also grabbing six rebounds and making four steals. Teammate Cameron Shockley-Okeke chipped in with 16 points, and Blake Harper rounded out the scoring with 13 points, complemented by six rebounds and eight assists.
This game marked a tough continuation for Howard, who was looking to bounce back after suffering a narrow 76-73 loss to Bowie State earlier.
