SAN JOSE, Calif. — In a thrilling matchup on Tuesday night, Robert Vaihola emerged as the leading scorer for San Jose State, contributing 18 points to propel the Spartans past New Mexico with a final score of 71-70. The decisive moment came when Latrell Davis sank a jump shot with only 2.1 seconds left on the clock.

Davis secured an offensive rebound and skillfully executed a fade-away putback that sealed the game. Alongside Vaihola’s impressive performance, which included nine rebounds, Jermaine Washington added 13 points to the scoreboard, successfully shooting 5-of-10 overall, with a notable 3-of-7 from three-point range. Meanwhile, Josh Uduje also played a significant role, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, along with grabbing eight rebounds.
