HOUSTON — In a thrilling contest on Tuesday night, UTSA emerged victorious against Rice with a score of 90-84, largely thanks to the impressive performance of Primo Spears, who scored 26 points.
Beyond his scoring prowess, Spears contributed five assists, solidifying his role in the team’s success as the Roadrunners improved their record to 8-8, and 2-2 in the American Athletic Conference. Marcus Millender was another standout performer, netting 25 points on an efficient shooting night, going 9 for 13 overall and hitting 5 of 6 from three-point territory, while also making a notable impact on defense with four steals.
Joining the scoring surge, Raekwon Horton added 20 points, finding the basket with five of nine shots from the field, including three of five from deep, and converting seven of eight free throws.
