Walmart advises customers to throw away recalled chicken broth

Walmart has issued a warning for customers regarding a chicken broth product sold primarily in the Southern U.S. during the previous year.

The retailer has announced the recall of 48-ounce cartons of its Great Value Family Size Chicken Broth, which was distributed to 242 stores across nine different states.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall was first reported in December and involves just over 2,000 cases of broth that have a shelf life until March 2026.
The FDA noted that issues with the packaging could potentially result in the broth spoiling. Fortunately, there have not been any reports of related illnesses thus far.

Walmart advises customers who have bought this product from stores located in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas to refrain from consuming the broth and to request a full refund.
The company is collaborating with the supplier to further investigate the matter.
