EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — In an impressive display, Ray’Sean Taylor scored 25 points for SIU-Edwardsville, leading the Cougars to a 67-59 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday evening.
Taylor’s performance was further highlighted by contributing eight rebounds and four steals, helping his team improve their record to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Ring Malith also played a pivotal role, adding 14 points along with nine rebounds. Brian Taylor II supported the effort with 13 points, shooting 4 of 9 overall, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc, and converting 4 of 6 from the free-throw line.
On the opposing side, Ray Glasgow led the Golden Eagles with 19 points and six rebounds, while Jaylon Johnson scored 16 points and recorded three steals. Daniel Egbuniwe chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds. Unfortunately for Tennessee Tech, this loss snapped their five-game winning streak, leaving their record at 9-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again this Thursday, with SIU-Edwardsville traveling to face Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech preparing to host Southeast Missouri State.
