OXFORD, Ohio — In an impressive display of skill, Kam Craft scored 23 points to guide Miami University (OH) to a commanding 91-71 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.
Craft had an outstanding shooting performance, making 9 of 13 shots, including 5 of 7 from beyond the arc, demonstrating his ability to elevate the RedHawks’ offense.
Peter Suder contributed significantly with 16 points and five assists, while Brant Byers added 14 points to the tally, going 4 of 7 from the field and hitting 3 of 6 from 3-point range, alongside a 3 for 4 performance from the free-throw line.
The Broncos, now with a record of 3-12 and on an eight-game losing streak, saw Markhi Strickland as their top scorer with 14 points. Chansey Willis Jr. and Javaughn Hannah both chipped in with 12 points, with Willis also dishing out four assists.
From the outset, Miami (OH) seized control of the game, taking the lead just 10 seconds into the first half and maintaining it throughout. Craft was particularly effective in the opening period, scoring 12 points and helping the RedHawks build a significant lead of 54-23 by halftime.
This victory further solidifies Miami’s position in the Mid-American Conference, where they now hold a 3-0 record, and improves their season standing to 11-4 overall.
