LIVERPOOL, England — Everton’s forward Armando Broja experienced a concerning injury during an FA Cup clash with Peterborough at Goodison Park. In a seemingly harmless play, Broja hurt his right leg after being challenged by Emmanuel Fernandez, forcing him to leave the field on a stretcher.

Entering the match as a substitute in the 68th minute, Broja found himself in distress soon after, collapsing due to the pain caused by the encounter with Fernandez. Despite the minimal contact involved in the play, the young striker landed awkwardly, prompting an extensive response from Everton’s medical team.

In a supportive effort, medical personnel administered oxygen using a small canister and treated him extensively before carrying him off the pitch with significant strapping on his injured leg. Broja, who hails from Albania and is just 23 years old, has previously faced numerous injury setbacks throughout his career, including an ACL tear that sidelined him for nine months from the 2022 to 2023 season. He was recently signed on loan from Chelsea and made his debut for Everton only last month after recovering from an Achilles injury.

On a different note, Everton celebrated a 2-0 victory over Peterborough, with goals coming from players Beto and Iliman Ndiaye. This match also followed the recent dismissal of manager Sean Dyche earlier in the day, marking a period of transition for the club.
