FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Davante Adams, wide receiver for the New York Jets, was absent from practice on Thursday due to a hip injury, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming game against Buffalo this Sunday.

Alongside Adams, cornerback Sauce Gardner (hamstring), right tackle Morgan Moses (knee), and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle) were also not present during the Jets’ first full practice of the week.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who mentioned on Tuesday that he is managing a “little MCL” issue in his knee, stated he would definitely be playing and completed a full practice session. Adams sustained his injury during the Jets’ recent 19-9 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, where he managed to record seven catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Since joining the team from Las Vegas in October, Adams has tallied 56 receptions for 719 yards and six touchdowns on 94 targets over nine games for the Jets. He is just 72 yards shy of reaching an impressive fifth consecutive season with over 1,000 yards receiving, marking the sixth such season in his career. Furthermore, Adams and Rodgers have notched 82 touchdown connections—including playoff games—tying them with legends Dan Marino and Mark Clayton for the third-highest total for a quarterback-receiver duo.

Gardner, who suffered a hamstring injury during the second half of the loss to the Rams, might also be sidelined for the contest against Buffalo. He previously missed a game after sustaining a hamstring injury against Seattle in Week 14, although it remains unclear if these injuries are connected. Meanwhile, Moses and Vera-Tucker have been managing their respective injuries over the past few weeks, continuing to play despite the discomfort.

Additionally, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was limited during Thursday’s practice after missing last Sunday’s game due to a hamstring issue. Other players released in limited capacity included left guard John Simpson (calf), defensive end Haason Reddick (neck), safety Tony Adams (ankle), cornerback Michael Carter II (back), and rookie defensive lineman Braiden McGregor (ankle).
