PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles are facing uncertainty as quarterback Jalen Hurts remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol, which hampers his practice participation this week and raises concerns about his readiness for the upcoming Sunday matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

In the event that Hurts is unable to take the field, the Eagles may have to rely on backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, who recently dealt with a rib injury during a tough 36-33 defeat against the Washington Commanders. Third-string quarterback Tanner McKee could also be called into action if necessary.

The Eagles, currently boasting a record of 12-3, need to secure a victory in one of their last two games to clinch the NFC East title and earn one of the top two seeds in the conference.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did not provide a specific update on Hurts’ health but mentioned that if cleared, Hurts, who had previously led the team to 10 consecutive victories, would not require extensive preparation time to face the Cowboys. “Jalen knows how to prepare,” Sirianni stated. “He knows how to get himself ready. He’s a true pro.”
