Potter tallies 19 points in Miami (OH)’s 94-76 victory over Sacred Heart

OXFORD, Ohio — Reece Potter came off the bench to deliver an impressive performance with 19 points, contributing significantly to Miami University (Ohio) as they defeated Sacred Heart with a score of 94-76 on Sunday.

Potter showcased his shooting accuracy, going a perfect 8 for 8 from the field, including three successful attempts from beyond the three-point line. The RedHawks (7-4) had other notable players stepping up as well; Kam Craft added 12 points along with five rebounds, while Brant Byers contributed 10 points, shooting 4 for 7, with one three-pointer out of four attempts.

For the Pioneers (4-8), Tanner Thomas led the scoring charge with 15 points. Also contributing to the scoreboard were Griffin Barrouk with 11 points and Fallou Gueye, who chipped in another 10 points to the team’s total.

The momentum of the game shifted in favor of Miami (OH) as they seized control with 9:42 to go in the first half, maintaining their advantage for the remainder of the game. Potter was instrumental during the first half, leading the team in scoring with nine points and helping the RedHawks establish a strong 50-30 lead at halftime. Although Sacred Heart managed to outscore Miami (OH) by two points in the second half, the RedHawks still secured the victory, thanks to Potter’s team-high 10 second-half points.

Looking ahead, Miami (OH) is scheduled to face Defiance at their home court on Monday, while Sacred Heart will welcome Manhattanville for their next game on Sunday.
