Walker nets 16 points as Binghamton triumphs over Army 78-68

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Chris Walker contributed significantly to Binghamton’s 78-68 win over Army on Sunday, scoring 16 points and grabbing five rebounds for the Bearcats, who improved their record to 8-6. Tymu Chenery matched Walker’s scoring with 16 points as well, shooting 6 of 14 from the floor, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc. Nehemiah Benson also added to the offense, finishing with 15 points on 6 of 11 shooting, and a perfect 3 for 3 from the free-throw line. This victory marked the Bearcats’ sixth consecutive win.

Josh Scovens led the Black Knights with 16 points and recorded two blocks. Teammate Jalen Rucker contributed 14 points along with two steals, while Ryan Curry rounded out Army’s efforts with 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.

Binghamton seized the lead at the 10:44 mark of the first half and maintained it throughout the game. The teams went into halftime with a score of 42-33, with Walker leading the Bearcats’ scoring efforts in the first half. In a closely contested second half, Binghamton edged out Army by a single point, bolstered by Benson, who led his team with 13 points in the latter period.

Looking ahead, both teams will continue their seasons next Sunday. Binghamton is set to travel to Marist, while Army will host UTSA at home.
